"Bad Cop Bad Cop"

Santa Barbara>>  I got the back bench for the next leg of the drive, for which I am thankful, as I am a bit hung over... I think we all are. We are on the way to Santa Barbara, where we get to stay with some old friends, Frank and Karen Ha. More importantly, there is a Foosball table at Frank and Karen Ha's. We roll into Santa Barbara, and Kurt takes a walk down memory lane... he went to college there. The place is unbelievably nice, and we head over to Isla Vista, which is basically a "ghetto" of sorts for all the college kids, which is sort of detached from Santa Barbara proper. This "ghetto" just happens to be right on the beach. We get burritos from a place called Super Bird's, and they are just ok. What is unbearable is the saturated concentration of frat-dudes and their female counter-parts strutting around the place being their vapid jolly selves. We retreat to the van and head over to the venue. The Living Room is a big room in an abandoned strip mall in Goleta. Its sort of a Gilman St. type place... all ages, no drinking, sign a contract when you get in to say that you won't drink, etc, etc. We met the Clairvoyants outside, a band from Athens Georgia (who by the way, are really good). They were super nice guys, and we chatted with them a lot. I think we were all scratching our heads a bit about this place we were supposed to play... it was a little erie. We are also to play with Beullton, whom we played with at the Noisepop Festival and really liked a whole lot.
